Yarn Along: A Day Late & A Dollar Short

Jesus, Is My Morning Glory

The title says it all.  I don’t know about you but that is where I am finding myself today.  Although I have some pretty good excuses as to why this describes me right now!!

First off the day late thing, I am finally coming back to the land of the living. Whatever yucky cold/virus thing going around at this moment (sore throat, head cold & zero energy) try not to catch, because this has been my best buddy for the last 2 weeks and I am so done with being sick-blah so done.

So what have I been up to while sick or should I say “What have we been doing, my buddy and I”?  Well knitting, of course!  This would be the only thing I have been successful at keeping up with.  All of my housework and chores are waiting patiently for me, but I would rather talk about knitting instead: I have one project that I have finished and several that are getting close to being done.

Because of being sick, well that makes me a day late in joining Ginny and everyone else at Small Things for the yarn along on Wednesday’s or (Thursday’s).

Knitting

My Jack Frost beanie.

Recently I bought the Clover pompom makers that come apart: WARNING-they do not mention on the package that they are habit forming, because I became completely addicted to making pompoms! 😉  I found myself with pompoms and no hats, so I threw this beanie together using some stash yarn and the color combination was one that I had wanted to knit together for a while.  Yep, I still have a few more hats to knit up, silly me.

These socks are my Southwest Blues and Sean’s socks, the blue ones are for my son and the other pair is for one of his best friends.  Did I mention, knitting socks is the perfect project when you are feeling pretty yucky, for me it is auto-pilot knitting.  I just love knitting socks.  If I didn’t knit socks, I would probably have finished up some of my other WIP’s, oh like my mother’s sweater, sorry Mom.

My PI shawl is also great mindless knitting, besides the socks.  Elizabeth Zimmerman’s idea for this pattern is very simple, yet so ingenious; it’s amazing.  I would recommend this pattern to anyone who wants some easy knitting but wants an impressive finished object.  By the way I just noticed; I think my picture above looks like a rose, what do you think?

Reading

I have not been reading anything specific for a few weeks, just poking around the internet and reading whatever I stumble across over there.  Always interesting things you find yourself reading when you tumble down the billion or so bunny holes of the internet…

Oh about the dollar short part, isn’t everyone always a dollar short?? 😉

Until next time, have a blessed day.

    1. Sarah, The pompom gadget is so much fun, I always would lose my patience when I used cardboard or the little donut shaped pompom makers, this is totally liberating. You would love them! Deanna
